Google peering degraded Saturday 9th November 2024 16:45:00

Google peering degraded Identified : We are currently experiencing an outage on our bilateral peering with Google. This issue has been escalated to Google for immediate investigation. As a result of this outage, we're observing a significant increase in traffic on our international paths. This is due to a large portion of Google content being served from international servers. You may experience slower-than-usual speeds when accessing Google-hosted content. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our engineering team is actively working with Google to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Started November 09, 2024 4:47 PM GMT+2 Affected IP Transit General Status IP Transit

After Google resolved their issue, the traffic increase has persisted. To address this, we added extra temporary capacity at 21:20 last night. Network Platforms is currently negotiating additional permanent capacity on our best-performing paths to ensure sustained performance.

Although the temporary capacity isn’t on the optimal path and required traffic balancing on our international links, it has successfully reduced pressure on these links. As a result, services have continued to perform at optimal levels during the peak period from 18:30 to 22:00.

This adjustment should mitigate any complaints you might have received from customers over the past few nights. In summary, the increased peak-time traffic issue has been resolved for now.

Resolved Google PNI's and peering were fixed by Google earlier this week, as well as their caching issue. Traffic to Google has returned to normal.

The situation has improved a bit. We're seeing some traffic locally, and the cache servers are now fully operational. However, we’re still observing some traffic coming through London.
