We are aware of a problem currently experienced on the Metro Fibre Network affecting clients in the Gauteng area. Engineers are working on resolving the problem as soon as possible.

Looks like all clients affected by the Metrofibre outage, are back in service now.

We are still waiting for updates and report from Metrofibre on the incident.

Still no updates as yet from Metrofibre. We have escalated again.

No updates from Metrofibre received as yet, we have requested.

Update from Metrofibre:

Build of new switch to take some services off the broken switch is progressing well - just about ready to start moving services, we will keep you posted on the progress.

Still no ETR received.

Metrofibre are still busy with splitting the network away from Cienna switches.

No new updates from Metrofibre as yet, we are asking continuously for updates however they are slow on feedback.

They have Cienna failure in their core of the network, Cienna is working on the issue MFN are though however also working on replacing the affected switching fabric.

No estimated time to repair has been communicated as yet from them.

Metrofibre have repaired the issue affecting Gauteng users.

Metrofibre is experiencing a partial outage in the Johannesburg area. They are attending to it.

Symptoms are connections flap and connectivity is intermittent.
